KEYNOTE | Co-founder of MVRDV
Winy Maas is a Dutch architect, urbanist, and educator, best known as Co-founder of MVRDV, an international practice exploring innovative approaches to density, sustainability, and public life. He is a Professor at Delft University of Technology, where he co-leads The Why Factory, a research lab investigating future cities and speculative models of urban growth. His built work with MVRDV spans cultural, residential, and mixed-use projects worldwide—including the Markthal Rotterdam and Tianjin Binhai Library—and is widely cited for its integration of social, environmental, and economic performance. Maas’s research and practice focus on compact city strategies, climate adaptation, and new housing typologies that catalyse healthier, more liveable urban environments. He has served on international juries, advised public agencies and cultural institutions, and received numerous accolades recognizing design excellence and urban innovation.

ويني ماس معماري ومخطط حضري وأكاديمي هولندي، يُعرف بكونه الشريك المؤسس لمكتب MVRDV، وهو مكتب عالمي يستكشف أساليب مبتكرة للكثافة والاستدامة والحياة العامة. يشغل منصب أستاذ في جامعة دلفت للتكنولوجيا، ويشارك في إدارة مختبر The Why Factory البحثي المعني بدراسة مدن المستقبل ونماذج تصورية للنمو الحضري. تشمل أعماله المنفذة مشاريع ثقافية وسكنية ومتعددة الاستخدامات حول العالم، من بينها سوق ماركتال في روتردام ومكتبة تيانجين بينهاى، وتحظى أعماله باعتراف واسع النطاق لدمجها الأداء الاجتماعي والبيئي والاقتصادي. يركز بحثه وممارساته على استراتيجيات المدينة المدمجة، والتكيّف المناخي، وأنماط الإسكان الجديدة التي تسهم في خلق بيئات حضرية أكثر صحة وقابلية للعيش. كما شارك في لجان تحكيم دولية، وقدّم الاستشارات لهيئات عامة ومؤسسات ثقافية، ونال العديد من الجوائز تقديراً للتميّز التصميمي والابتكار الحضري
