HOPE Symposium

HOPE Symposium 2024 will take place at the GUtech campus. International and national speakers include Prof. Billie Giles-Corti and the research team of the PABE project. One of the main objectives is to disseminate the results of the PABE project in Nizwa and Barka to policymakers at the national and local levels. The cases will serve as success stories with the potential for scaling up and as the basis for strengthening urban policies to be supportive of liveable communities in the region. A call for proposals will be made for national, regional and global scholars to submit abstracts for review and selection by a scientific committee to present their research during parallel sections.

Housing People and Environment is a platform designed to promote people centred development approach in planning and design with the focus on housing, public spaces, and territories examining their interplay with the urban environment.
