Dr. Jianxiang Huang is a tenured associate professor in the Department of Urban Planning and Design at the University of Hong Kong. My research is dedicated to the study of high-density cities, with particular focus on mitigating the urban heat island effect, reducing carbon emissions, traffic noise, and enhancing human comfort, health, and well- being. As the director of the Sustainable High-Density Cities Lab, I lead an interdisciplinary research group that develops new theories, innovative thinking, and cutting-edge tools to achieve sustainable urban development. My research includes developing urban environment and energy simulation and optimisation models, as well as studying human- built environment interactions using “urban new data” such as social media, POI, behavioural data, and wellbeing. My design software packages have been applied in real- world projects in Hong Kong, Singapore, mainland China, the US, and other countries.

الدكتور هوانغ أستاذ مشارك متفرغ في قسم التخطيط والتصميم الحضري بجامعة هونغ كونغ. يكرّس بحثه لدراسة المدن عالية الكثافة، مع تركيز خاص على التخفيف من ظاهرة الجزر الحرارية الحضرية، وخفض انبعاثات الكربون، والضوضاء المرورية، وتعزيز الراحة والصحة والرفاه الإنساني. يشغل منصب مدير مختبر المدن عالية الكثافة المستدامة، حيث يقود فريقاً بحثياً متعدد التخصصات لتطوير نظريات جديدة وأدوات متقدمة لتحقيق التنمية الحضرية المستدامة. تشمل أبحاثه نمذجة ومحاكاة وتحسين الطاقة والبيئة الحضرية، ودراسة تفاعل الإنسان مع البيئة المبنية باستخدام «البيانات الحضرية الجديدة» مثل وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، ونقاط الاهتمام، والبيانات السلوكية وبيانات الرفاهية. وقد طُبّقت برمجياته التصميمية في مشاريع واقعية في هونغ كونغ وسنغافورة والصين والولايات المتحدة ودول أخرى.
